Чему вы научитесь
- Learn modeling as a tool and models applicable for the urban environment
- Get a deeper understanding of the structure of urban ecosystems
- Train basic skills in statistical modeling
- Obtain basic skills in GIS and spatial modeling
- Get experience in particular models applied for urban ecosystems (e.g., Eddy Pro, HYDRUS and i-tree)
О курсе
This course aims to improve the understanding of properties, processes, functions, and services of urban ecosystems. During the course, we will review existing approaches of environmental modeling regarding their applicability to urban ecosystems. Theory and practices of statistical, GIS, and process modeling will be presented for the case studies of environmental processes and risks, e.g. air and soil pollution or climate change. The course aims to provide a better understanding of the mutual interactions between citizens and the surrounding urban environment and provide a relevant tool to analyze and model these interactions and their consequences.
The course will be interesting for a broad audience including students and researchers studying ecology, urban architecture and engineering, landscape planning and design. Practitioners in urban planning, management and design will also benet from getting a better insight into modeling urban ecosystems
Начальные требования
