О курсе
The course describes the use of nanomaterials in biomedical applications. The introduction to nanotechnology is described in detail. A significant part of the course is devoted to the description of the quantum dots, quantum dots accumulation and distribution in vivo, analysis of biodistribution methods by confocal microscopy, therapeutic nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery characterization. It shows the formation and application of DNA-based and assembly of peptide-based nanomaterials. This course addresses biological assembly in nanotechnology, formation of DNA-based nanomaterials, and other medical applications of bionanotechnology. Another extensive part of the course is devoted to the description of the immune system, immune cell activation by nanomaterials, and biological self-assembly. The course characterizes biological syntheses of DNA and RNA, liposomal carriers, and describes the “DNA origami” technology. The content of this course covers nanotechnologies for use in the food industry, water purification, as well as prospects for their use in therapy and diagnostics, studying the processes of cytotoxicity and possible risks.
The purpose of studying the course is the mastery of the basic information and principles nanomaterials, nanotechnology for further use by other disciplines of natural science content.
