Чему вы научитесь
- The course is devoted to the basic concepts and laws of Mechanics in Russian. Become familiar with main terms in Russian. Learn how to describe the motion and interaction of physical bodies using formulas and learn how to solve problems. Get the skill to define physical concepts and use Russian terminology and phraseology on physics. A course for physicists, chemists, biologists, engineers… and fans of Russian.
О курсе
Seven steps learning science in a foreign language
1. Introduction. Basic notions and quantities. This chapter sets up the frame of reference of the academic approach to physics and provides the reader with the starting vocabulary required to discuss physics in Russian. First of all it introduces the concept of frame of reference.
2. Kinematics. Tasks of kinematics. Types of motion. Relativity of motion. Kinematical description of rectilinear uniform and non-uniform motion. Free fall and movement of a body thrown upwards vertically. Circular motion.
3. Dynamics basics. The basic notions of dynamics. Newton's Laws and types of forces. Momentum conservation principle and description of collisions. Circular motion dynamics.
4. Mechanical work and energy. Work of constant and variable force. Work of several forces. Power. Conservative forces. Kinetic and potential energy. Law of the conservation of mechanical energy. Efficiency.
5. Statics. Basic notions of statics. The statics of a body with and without fixed axis of rotation. General condition for body equilibrium. Equilibrium of the body under the parallel forces’ action. Equilibrium of the body in a uniform field of gravity. Сenter of gravity. Types of equilibrium.
6. Hydrostatics. The basic notions of hydrostatics. Pascal's law. Hydrostatic pressure. Communicating vessels. Archimedes’ principle.
7. Oscillatory motion. The concept and characteristics of oscillatory motion. Harmonic oscillations. Dynamics and energy of free harmonic oscillations. Damped oscillations. Forced oscillations. Waves.
Для кого этот курс
First of all, for the high school, college and university students, that are interested and specialize in physics, mathematics, engineering and computer sciences and who plan to enter Russian universities and institutes. We recommend this course for students of other natural sciences: chemistry, biology, geology, agronomy etc. It is also good for those, who start study Russian on their own for work or just as a hobby, who communicates with Russian colleagues on business or wants to expand one’s horizons.
Начальные требования
You will need algebra, geometry and a basic knowledge of Russian. If you know physics well already, you can focus on Russian terminology and phraseology, pronunciation and usage of terms and stable expressions. Otherwise, you can also streamline your knowledge of physics and fill in the gaps. Do you have a question? Write to the teacher!
